Once the darlings of the high street, McDonald's had suddenly found themselves out of favour thanks to the the release of Supersize Me and Fast Food Nation and were struggling against years of falling sales.

This was the first commercial in the "that’s what makes McDonald’s" campaign that set out to re-tell the McDonald's story and re-build customer trust. 

The film changed perceptions of the brand overnight and not only halted the decline but helped ushere in a new period of 45 quarters of consecutive growth.
